She woke up as the sun shined in her eyes from the windows. She had fallen asleep at her desk again. It was getting to be a habit she hated and she got up and went to freshen up before she left for some breakfast from her favorite diner around the corner from the police station. She was in the case of an attacker who had attacked at least three women. She ate her pancakes that were the best at this place and drank coffee like a thirsty man in the desert. She needed to take a break from this case or she was going to go mad. Sometimes clearing your head is the best way to solve the case. She went back to her apartment downtown and took a shower and put on some comfortable clothes and tried on her new boots. She should sell her old ones at the local vintage shop; they probably were at least 40 or 50 years old. She found them when she moved in and wore them when she went clubbing. They were so cool and she felt powerful in them. She fell in love in these boots and had her heartbroken but she had finally made enough money and could afford a new pair. She felt like she was losing an old friend but felt like someone else needed them to have a great adventure in them like her. She loved them so much and wished that she knew they were going to a good home. She was just being silly but she remembered when she first moved in and had 50 dollars to feed herself that week because she had to put all her money on the deposit. She had to buy cleaning supplies and she was so stressed out. She was looking in the closet to figure out where to put her clothes and found them under an empty box. She was so excited like a kid on Christmas day opening a super cool present. She cleaned them up and laced them up. She felt like a million dollars and looked so hot in her cut off jeans too with them on. They fit perfectly! She did poses in front of the mirror. She went out to get cleaning supplies and groceries for the week. She did not get paid next week at her new job. She decided to get some cleaning supplies first at the dollar store and got everything she needed for 5 bucks because of a green tag sale. She headed to the deli she liked and was going to get day bread and some sandwich meat and cheese. They had just put out fresh bread and cleared the case. The lady in front of her had ordered the wrong ham. They gave it to me for half price. She still had money in my pocket and could go to the midnight show at the movie theater. She had enough money for little bottles of rum too. She could sneak them in the movie theater and have a rum and coke. She did not remember what the movie was but she had a great time. She laughed so much that night.
She got her current job because of these boots because a guy was being chased by the police and she tripped him and they arrested him and the police officer took my statement and said she should try out for the police academy and she did. It was weird how good she was at police work and had never thought about it before and now she was a detective and she made enough to get new boots.I put them in a box and took them to the vintage shop and they gave her 500 dollars and put them up in the window. She hoped they would help someone else like they helped her. She realized something as she looked at those boots one last time in the window. All the victims had no shoes at the scene. Maybe it would crack the case. She had a good feeling about it. The boots were gone the next time she walked by the vintage shop. She hoped they were on a new adventure.
